Established in 1692, Spier is one of South Africa's most historic wine producers. Set on the banks of the Eerste River with breathtaking views of the Stellenbosch Mountains, this award-winning wine farm is not only one of the oldest but also most developed wine estates, boasting beautifully restored Cape Dutch heritage buildings and South Africa’s oldest dated wine cellar. Its central ethos is of sustainablility, and working in harmony with nature.

This dark ruby red wine oozes notes of caramalised black cherries, hints of dark spice and dark chocolate. The palate follows with with fruit and smooth, velvety tannins that balance the wine for a full palate experience. A lingering finish with opulence and longevity. After 18 months ageing in American and Hungarian oak barrels, this is a prime example of a balanced, cool climate Pinotage with great complexity and ageing potential. Serve with mature beef, venison, lamb and ostrich dishes with berry jus or strong cheese.
