Hawkshead Wines was formed in 2004 by Greg Shaw, who has for many years run a successful fine wine company and wished to expand the business into the mail-order market. Based at Moulton Park on the outskirts of Northampton, our dedicated and enthusiastic team supply customers both locally and throughout the UK, using an overnight courier.

Our aim is to provide an interesting selection of wines at the best possible prices. We search the wine world for the rising stars and the latest bargain buys and our policy is to pass on the savings achieved by careful and astute buying, direct to our customers. As a small company, we are able to support the smaller producers who would normally find it difficult to break into the British market. This also means that we can stock wines that you would not see on every street corner.

Wine with a difference

A major point of difference between us and other mail order wine companies is that we try to keep our costs to a minimum by restricting the amount we spend on unnecessary marketing. So we won’t bombard you with expensive, glossy brochures that mostly end up in the bin. These cost a minimum of 50p each once you include the design and production costs as well as the postage. Typically if just one person in 20 places an order, the cost of those other 19 leaflets has to be covered by your order. We estimate that puts at least £10 on the price of your case

Our brochures are simple yet informative. Leaflets are enclosed with our cases whenever possible and we encourage customers to view the latest offers on our internet site. In addition, we send out regular features by e-mail, so please let us know if you would like to receive these.
